RTE Late Late Show Eurosong viewers switching off instantly after awful moment

The Late Late Show Eurosong special was on TV tonight. Viewers across the country shared their opinions. Tonight, Ireland chose its Eurovision representative for this year. Bambie Thug had Ireland’s best finish in decades last year.

A National Jury, an International Jury, and the public voted. They all decided the winner together. Linda Martin, Niamh Kavanagh, and Eimear Quinn performed. They sang Loreen’s “Tattoo,” Sweden’s winning song from 2023.

Donal Skehan joined Patrick to discuss Ireland’s chances. He is a celebrity chef and former Eurosong contestant. Laura Fox and Arthur Gourounlian also shared their thoughts. They discussed the final six acts.

Bobbi Arlo performed “Powerplay.” Reylta sang “Fire.” Adgy performed “Run into the Night.” EMMY sang “Laika Party.” Samantha Mumba performed “My Way.” NIYL sang “Growth.”

Patrick Kielty hosted tonight’s show with excitement. He said the acts were ready to perform. He also mentioned the great mix of songs. The costumes and props were amazing. He hoped for a brilliant song for Switzerland.

Ireland now shares the most Eurovision wins with Sweden. Both countries have won seven times. Ireland’s Eurovision winners include Dana (1970) and Johnny Logan (1980, 1987). Other winners are Linda Martin (1992) & Niamh Kavanagh (1993), Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan (1994), and Eimear Quinn (1996).

Some viewers switched channels during the show. Some people did not like the Eurosong event. One person joked about PTSD. Another viewer was very critical early in the show.

Someone questioned if the international jury was being held captive. A viewer said last year’s song was successful, admitting they disliked it, but it did well.
