A Scottish town got named a top UK coastal spot. Maybole has a hidden beach and cool castle. It is a market town in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Travel experts made a list, placing Maybole on the “26 best seaside towns” list. The Camping and Caravanning Club compiled the list, and Maybole is the only Scottish place listed, coming in at number 21.

Maybole is south of Ayr, about nine miles. You can drive to the coast in ten minutes, or walk to the sea in about ninety minutes.

Culzean Beach is the town’s highlight. Experts describe it as a pretty and secluded beach with sand, rocks, and nice views, allowing you to see Arran and Ailsa Craig.

Culzean Castle sits above the beach on a cliff inside a 260-hectare area, giving the castle a fairytale feel. The public is welcome to visit.

People enjoy the views of Culzean Castle from the beach and Croy Shore Beach. Maybole offers more than just its coast, expanding its appeal.

The town has historic sites available for visits, including a 19th-century church distinguished by its orange stone and square spire. You can also explore the ruins of Crossraguel Abbey, a medieval monastery reflecting Scotland’s past.

Maybole also provides outdoor fun, featuring a nine-hole golf course and a 25-metre swimming pool. Coupled with its shops and restaurants, Maybole invites both day trips and extended stays.

Robert Burns, Scotland’s celebrated poet, has a connection to Maybole as his parents initially met in this Scottish town.
